Everything here runs on one idea: a 24-hour pause between wanting something and buying it. If the pause survives strangers' scrutiny, you buy guilt-free. If it doesn't, you keep the money.

Reasons are mandatory — for applications and for votes. "I deserve it" is not a reason. "I have wanted this for six months and my old one broke" is. The reason box is the product.

You cannot see anyone else's votes or reasons before you cast your own. That is deliberate: an unreasoned pile-on is worthless, an independent verdict is not. Your own vote always unlocks the record for you.

Every case closes 24 hours after filing. Nobody can end it early, extend it, or overrule the tally afterwards — including us. Ties go to the wallet, not the cart.

You cannot vote on your own application. If you could, the whole thing would be theatre.

Food, education and self-care cases are judged gently by convention — the point is a pause, not shame. Being smug about someone's budget is a worse look than the impulse buy.

Harassment, hate, sexual content, doxxing, spam and anything illegal are removed and can get you banned. Report anything that belongs in that list; reports go to a human queue, never auto-deleted.

Anonymous means anonymous. Applications can be filed without your handle, and the API does not hand out applicant identities. Don't try to deanonymise people — that is the one rule we treat as non-negotiable.
